Earlier, I talked about why I think marketing is so important to putting your small business on auto-pilot. I was doodling doing something else and realized that I’d created a nice pictorial for what I was trying to say in that post.
Everybody’s heard of the sales funnel. You have a lot of prospects that you try to convert into customers. Marketing is what gets prospects into and through your funnel. My argument is that effort spent chasing prospects that don’t ever convert into customers is (mostly) a waste of time.
If you somehow could work it so that the only prospects you dealt with were the one’s that were virtually guaranteed to become customers, you’d cut out a lot of time and expenses.
So, targeting better. Reaching that target more accurately. Educating them in a hands-off way and moving them along your funnel in the most automatic way possible are what I preach.
